A red brick plaza opens between half-timbered brick buildings with steep tiled roofs, dormers and a ground-floor arcade of round arches. A stone kiosk with a conical roof and a blue door stands in the middle, an ornate cast-iron lamppost with a planter bowl beside it, and a bed of pink and purple flowers borders the paving. A masonry viaduct crosses the far side of the square, its arch framing a street of parked cars, with ivy on the retaining wall and people walking under a partly clouded sky.
