A residential blockfront in Jackson Heights
Brick apartment buildings of five and six storeys run the length of one side of a residential street, their projecting corner bays throwing the wall in and out and a black fire escape zigzagging down the near facade. Round-arched windows and a small oval window mark the ground floor, an iron fence and low shrubs edge the sidewalk, and cars are parked at both curbs beneath young trees coming into leaf.
