Opened January 26, 1934; its Amateur Night launched careers from Ella Fitzgerald to Lauryn Hill, and it is the largest performing arts institution committed to Black culture and creativity.
History
The Historic Theater's main stage is closed for a generational restoration expected to complete in 2026; the institution remains active via the Apollo Stages at The Victoria.
