Bolton Notch State Park

A 95-acre park built around a natural notch eroded through mica-schist ledges. The 1.7-mile Mohegan Trail climbs to views of the Connecticut River Valley, Talcott Mountain and the Hanging Hills of Meriden; the park also has caves and links to the Shenipsit Trail and Hop River State Park Trail. Open daily 8 a.m.-sunset, free, leashed pets welcome; no restrooms on site.
