Chiesa dei Santi Bartolomeo e Alessandro dei Bergamaschi

Historic site · Colonna, Lazio

A small church on Piazza Colonna — Roma Capitale's description of the square places it to the right — also known as Santa Maria della Pietà. Roma Capitale records that it was founded in 1561 as the chapel of the adjoining Ospedale dei Pazzi.

History

Roma Capitale's page on San Macuto records that the Bergamasque confraternity moved here in 1725-26 and that the title changed to the Santi Bartolomeo e Alessandro. The Italian Wikipedia article describes it as the national church of the Bergamaschi in Rome.
