A titular church and parish on piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, wedged among the blocks of the 1873 master plan. The parish's own site gives the address as Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II 12/A, 00185 Roma, and the telephone as 06-44 66 170, and carries a bookable guided-visit programme with two itineraries, including an underground archaeological area.
History
it.wikipedia gives the consecration as 1238, by Gregory IX, after a rebuilding a fundamentis, and describes the church as titular and parochial and not a minor basilica. The Celestines, who had held it, abandoned it in the early fourteenth century.
