Day Pond State Park
Park · Colchester, Connecticut
A pond the pioneering Day family dug to power an "up and down" sawmill, with stone foundations of the mill complex still visible. A roughly five-mile trail network links the park to Salmon River State Forest and reaches a series of waterfalls up to ten feet tall. Open 8 a.m. to sunset, April through Columbus Day, free.
