Farmington Canal Heritage Trail (Southington)

A rail-trail following the bed of the Farmington Canal, which broke ground July 4, 1825, and the New Haven-Northampton Company railroad that replaced it in 1847. A long continuous paved stretch runs from New Haven north into Southington, ending near Aircraft Road; check the trail association's current maps for the latest connections.
