San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park

The national park that holds Hyde Street Pier, the Maritime Museum in the Aquatic Park Bathhouse, the visitor center in the Haslett Warehouse, Aquatic Park Cove and a fleet of historic ships. San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park was established in 1988, and its 50 acres have grown around Aquatic Park Cove. The ships of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park are berthed at the Mare Island Coal Sheds in Vallejo while Hyde Street Pier is rebuilt.

History

The fleet is Balclutha, a square-rigger of 1886; the ferryboat Eureka of 1890; the lumber schooner C. A. Thayer of 1895; the scow schooner Alma of 1891; and the steam tug Hercules of 1907. Each is separately listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and each address of record is in San Francisco County.
