Forest Park

Park · Forest Hills, New York

The park Forest Hills is named after and borders. NYC Parks carries it as a Flagship Park of 506.86 acres, at Myrtle Avenue, Union Turnpike and Park Lane South, and lists 11375 among its ZIP codes alongside 11385, 11415 and 11421.

History

The park is not administratively part of any neighborhood: the Department of City Planning gives it its own 2020 tabulation area, QN8291, a joint interest area, and the city's geocoder returns the neighborhood "Forest Park" for its Park Lane address. The Landmarks Preservation Commission and NYC Parks both record that Forest Hills was named for its proximity to the park.
