Franklin Swamp Wildlife Management Area

A 772-acre state Wildlife Management Area of marsh, open water and mixed forest, holding white-tailed deer, wild turkey and ruffed grouse. A CT DEEP young-forest habitat project has run here since 2022 under a 2021-2030 management plan. Working state land open to hunting — wear blaze orange outside quiet-season visits.
