Grotta dei Vini
Historic site · Pinciano, Lazio
A seventeenth-century grotto near the via Pinciana entrance to the park, used by the Borghese for parties and banquets and as a wine cellar. Its vault carries frescoes set among stuccoes with pagan mythological subjects.
History
It was built to a design by Flaminio Ponzio, and Archita Ricci designed the decoration of the vault.
