A 7.819-acre park with a baseball diamond, basketball courts, a playground, a dog run and barbecue areas, plus the Herbert Von King Cultural Arts Center and the Almira Kennedy Coursey Amphitheatre.
History
The park was established in June 1857 as Tompkins Park, one of Brooklyn's earliest and arguably its first; Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted were commissioned to design it in 1871. It was renamed in 1985 for Herbert Von King, a longtime local community organizer. The Cultural Arts Center reopened in 2022 after a $7 million renovation.
