Keats-Shelley Memorial House

Museum · Campo Marzio, Lazio

The house on piazza di Spagna where John Keats died in 1821, first opened to the public in 1909 as a museum to Keats, Shelley and Byron, all three of whom lived in the district. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.

History

Roma Capitale records that the eighteenth-century building still looks much as it did when Keats arrived in Rome, and that the museum holds letters, manuscripts, portraits and relics. It has two terraces, a bookshop and a screening room.
