A small public square at the junction of Little Italy, Nolita, and SoHo, renamed in 1987 (from Kenmare Square) for NYPD Lieutenant Joseph Petrosino, the pioneering officer who led the Italian Squad against Black Hand extortion rackets; renovated 2008-2011 in a $2 million project.
