Palatino

Historic site · Campitelli, Lazio

The Palatine is one of Rome's seven hills, between the Velabrum and the Forum. it.wikipedia describes two summits, the higher called Palatium and the other Germalus or Cermalus. It is covered by the same Forum Pass Super the Sovrintendenza Capitolina gives as EUR 18,00 full, valid for the day across the Foro Romano, the Fori Imperiali and the Palatino.

History

As with the Forum, the hill is one visit rather than a list. Besides the buildings with entries of their own here, Overpass returns further named features on it with no per-place source: the Domus Severiana, the Terme Severiane, the Arcate severiane and the Terme di Massenzio on the southern extension, and the Capanne Romulee, the Auguratorium, the Tempio di Apollo, the Pedagogio, the Schola Praeconum, the Bagni di Livia, the Loggia Mattei, the Ninfeo degli Specchi, the Ninfeo della Pioggia, the cisterns, the central hypogean cryptoporticus and a chamber mapped only as "Ambiente 4". The Criptoportico Neroniano is mapped as an accessible footway. The sixteenth-century Horti Farnesiani, the Farnese gardens on the north side of the hill, have no article of their own on it.wikipedia - the name redirects to the article on the Palatine, which treats them as part of the hill rather than a separate site. No height is given: it.wikipedia's article body and its own infobox give different figures.
