Pinnacle Rock and the Metacomet Trail
Park · Plainville, Connecticut
A 600-foot basalt traprock summit formed roughly 200 million years ago, straddling Farmington and Plainville about ten miles southwest of Hartford. An important raptor migration path with rare cliff-and-ravine plant communities; the blue-blazed Metacomet Trail crosses the peak.
