Prospect Park

Park · Park Slope, New York

A 526-acre park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Prospect Park West runs along it and it forms Park Slope's eastern edge; it also borders Windsor Terrace on its southwest side.

History

It opened on October 19, 1867 and was substantially complete by 1873. Its construction in the 1860s spurred the growth of the neighborhoods around it.
