Riegelmann Boardwalk

A boardwalk running roughly 2.7 miles along the oceanfront, built in 1922 and 1923 to a design by Philip P. Farley and named for Brooklyn borough president Edward J. Riegelmann. NYC Parks has maintained it since 1938.
History
The Landmarks Preservation Commission designated it the city's eleventh scenic landmark on May 15, 2018, after initially rejecting the application. NYC Parks and the Economic Development Corporation announced a renovation valued at roughly a billion dollars in December 2024, with work not expected to start for at least two years.
