Tempio di Ercole Vincitore

A circular temple of marble on the piazza della Bocca della Verita, in the Forum Boarium, of about 120 BC. Also called Ercole Invitto or Ercole Oleario.
History
A Renaissance misattribution still has it popularly called the Temple of Vesta, because its round plan resembles the Temple of Vesta in the Roman Forum. The building later served as the church of Santa Maria del Sole; with the recovery of the ancient monument the church was deconsecrated.
