Basilica di San Crisogono

Historic site · Trastevere, Lazio

A basilica on piazza Sidney Sonnino, which it.wikipedia groups with the squares opened through the rione in the nineteenth century.

History

it.wikipedia gives the church a fourth-century origin and finds it as the Titulus Chrysogoni in the list of 499; it was rebuilt in the twelfth century and again in 1626, to a design by Giovanni Battista Soria for Cardinal Scipione Caffarelli-Borghese. The campanile is Romanesque.
