Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center

156 acres of wooded hills, grassy fields, streams and a two-acre pond, with free admission and guided hikes every Sunday at 1 p.m. The nature center building keeps resident Animal Ambassadors including box turtles. Building hours Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.-5 p.m., closed Sundays; the park itself stays open sunrise to sunset daily.
