Upper Main Street Historic District
Historic site · Ansonia, Connecticut
Listed on the National Register on December 2, 1982, a row of connected masonry commercial buildings in Classical Revival, Italianate and 1930s Commercial styles, most built 1870-1900. Its centerpiece is the Ansonia Opera House of about 1870; other highlights include the neo-Classical Savings Bank of Ansonia. Free to walk at any time; several storefronts house operating businesses.
