Foro di Nerva (Foro Transitorio)

Historic site · Campitelli, Lazio

An imperial forum on the Campitelli side of via dei Fori Imperiali, also called the Foro Transitorio. it.wikipedia says it was built by Domitian and already conceived in 85-86 according to Martial, and that it was inaugurated together with the temple of Minerva in late 97 by Nerva, after Domitian's murder.

History

The temple of Minerva and the Porticus absidata belong to this forum rather than standing on their own: the Comune's own page on the Foro di Nerva places the Porticus absidata "alle spalle del tempio di Minerva", behind the temple, inside the forum.
