Hopeville Pond State Park

A former woolen-mill site where Mohegan-built stone fishing weirs are visible in the pond at low water. Swimming, boating, fishing, hiking and a wooded campground of 80 sites plus one rustic cabin. Open daily 8 a.m. to sunset, April to October; recreation field open year-round. Park office (860) 376-2920.
