A granite-and-brownstone Romanesque Revival library built in 1884 as a gift from industrialist John Fox Slater, designed by architect Stephen C. Earle, with the Fanning Annex added in 1930. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 2002. Open Mon-Wed 12-5:30, Thu 12-6:30, Fri 11-5, Sat 10-2, closed Sunday. Phone (860) 376-0024.
