Hunts Point Playground

The sign records that in 1874 New York City, which at the time included only Manhattan, began to annex sections of the Bronx, and that Hunts Point, originally part of West Farms in what was then lower Westchester County, became the newest part of New York City. It also names the Fox, Tiffany and Leggett landowners, the acquisition of the site in 1929–30, the playground itself in 1954, a restoration by Blumberg & Butter in 1986, and the Community Parks Initiative in 2015.
