A triangular sanctuary precinct in the angle between the Cardo Massimo and the town walls, holding the temple of Cybele, the shrine of Attis, the temple of Bellona and the seat of the hastiferi. The taurobolia were performed in the open ground between them.
History
The cult of Cybele reached Ostia in the first century AD and the sanctuary was laid out during the second.
