The Lancellotti family palace, on the square and street that carry the family's name.

History

it.wikipedia records that the palace was begun in 1591 to Francesco da Volterra's design for Cardinal Scipione Lancellotti and completed for Cardinal Orazio Lancellotti by Carlo Maderno in 1610. Its frescoes were finished later under Agostino Tassi, among them the Sala dei Palafrenieri, and the portal is by Domenichino. It was the first seat of the Circolo San Pietro, founded in 1869.
