A 2-plus-acre campus of more than a dozen historic buildings centered on the 1771 Phelps Tavern, listed on the National Register of Historic Places; the society was established in 1911 and the Phelps family donated the tavern, barn, and land in 1962. Ellsworth Visitor Center open Thursday-Saturday noon-4 p.m., with guided tours Saturdays at 1 and 2:30 p.m., April-November.
