History

Roma Capitale's tourism service records that from the early twentieth century the Vittoria was Testaccio's theatre: a two-storey building on an unpaved square, doing variety. It was demolished after the war and replaced by a block of flats whose ground floor held a cinema built by the exhibitor Amati; the cinema closed at the end of the 1970s. Conversion works to a prose theatre began in May 1986, commissioned by Attilio Corsini of the Attori & Tecnici cooperative from the architect Enrico Nespega, and the theatre opened in December 1986 with 560 red velvet seats. Corsini died in 2008. Rumori fuori scena is the cooperative's signature production.
