Opened in 1846 by Gad Norton, Lake Compounce is the oldest continually operating amusement park in the United States, with 44 attractions including 5 roller coasters and 13 water rides. The 1927 Wildcat is among the oldest operating roller coasters in the world, and Boulder Dash (2000) has won the Golden Ticket Award for Best Wooden Coaster. The park straddles the Bristol-Southington town line and was acquired by Herschend in March 2025. Season and pricing vary — check before visiting.
