Lower East Side Tenement Museum

Founded in 1988 by Ruth J. Abram and Anita Jacobson, the museum preserves an 1863 tenement (97 Orchard St) and an 1888 building (103 Orchard St); it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1994 and a National Historic Site in 1998, affiliated with the National Park Service.
