History

Roma Capitale records that the building was conceived by Giovanni Giolitti; that a ministerial decree of 1911 gave the design to Manfredo Manfredi; that the definitive project was approved on 15 October 1912 by the Ministero dei Lavori Pubblici at a total cost of 8 million, and confirmed on 23 October 1912 by the Consiglio di Stato; and that it was inaugurated on 9 July 1925.
